‘Best View of Heaven is From Hell’ is the title of Bran’s most significant photographic body of work.
2011
Idea Generation Gallery, London.
Artist Bran, a photographer and former soldier who served in The British Army, revisited Afghanistan to capture profoundly intimate images of the Afghan National Police, commissioned by The Sunday Times.
These striking photographs made their debut on January 28th 2011 at Idea Generation Gallery, London.
“The Best View Of Heaven Is From Hell” exhibition curated by Bran using his images, sheds light on the intricacies of a culture largely unfamiliar to the Western mindset and is a sacralidge within islamic beleifs—small communities hold this culture deeply intertwined with opium, religion, and homosexuality, however, these actions are punishable by death if caught.
